Remove ALL PACKAGING from your panels and stack panels FLAT on the floor of the room you intend to panel, 48 hours before installation. This allows the panels to acclimatise to the environment.
STEP TWO – WALL PREPARATION
Installing EASipanel™ over existing walls requires no initial preparation other than to make sure the surface is clean, free of grease and secure – removing all loose wallpaper and paint and stabilising any loose plaster.
STEP THREE – SETTING OUT
In most cases you will not have to mark the height of the panel if you are installing it at its pre-cut height. However, for older properties and/or properties with known uneven floors we would recommend that you locate the highest point, mark off the panel height from the top of the skirting and using a level continue that mark around the room. If you require the panelling to be of a non-standard height, then mark your level (at the highest point, if floors are not level) and with the aid of a level continue that mark around the room.
STEP FOUR – WHERE TO START?
It is preferable to start from the door opening or a corner of the room. Lay the panels around the room to roughly identify where any cutting is required and ensure you have enough EASipanel™ to complete the job. Hold up your starting panel onto the wall ensuring that it is sitting squarely on the top of the skirting and tight into the corner (grooved edge in) or against the door architrave. If gaps are evident then trim the edge to fit correctly before starting. If any panels require cutting it is recommended that you cut them as you proceed with application, as opposed to cutting all the panels before fitting.
(Please take into account any sockets/radiators at this point)
STEP FIVE – APPLYING ADHESIVE
Apply a 6mm width bead of grab adhesive in a ‘Z’ pattern.
STEP SIX – FITTING TO WALL
Remove the paper tape backing from the foam pads and place the bottom edge of the panel on top of the skirting with the left edge tight into the corner or up to the door frame architrave and press firmly to the wall. Prepare the next panel. Again, place the bottom edge on top of the skirting and push fit the edge to the previously fitted panel ensuring the tongue is fully located into the groove. Repeat process.
